Strawberry Smoothie Recipe Ingredients
- 8 strawberries, hulled
- 1/2 cup skim milk
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 3 tablespoons white sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp. lemon juice
- 6 cubes ice, crushed
- 1/4 cup premium vanilla ice cream
In a blender combine, milk, yogurt, sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla. Toss in the ice. Blend for just as long as it takes to get a good mixture but while there are still small chunks of ice left (you do not want it to be “smothie-like” just yet. The problem with other strawberry smoothies is that it tends to have the texture of some sort of meal supplement shake. This is not good! This is why we mix the other ingredients of the strawberry smoothie first. Now, drop your fresh strawberries into the blender. As a side note, it helps if you cut up you strawberries into 4ths to cut down on blending time, but this is not required. Once again, start the blender and blend until all of the strawberries are mixed in and blended, but stop before it becomes too blended. Find the texture and consistency that you like best.
